10 Deadly Dog Illnesses Every Pet Owner Should Know
Dogs get their own illnesses, and as a pup owner, you should be aware of them.
Dog illnesses can make your pup sick at the best, but they can be fatal at worst. It is important for you to take your dog to regular checkups at the vet and be aware of the different diseases that can be fatal for dogs.
One example is parvovirus. It’s a particularly nasty virus that has an 80% chance of being fatal if left untreated. Symptoms of parvovirus include loss of appetite and regular vomiting. There is a vaccine for parvovirus, so make sure your pup is up to date on shots and boosters!
Another illness to watch out for is Alabama rot. It’s called this because it’s normally contracted through rotting plants or ponds. Alabama rot can cause kidney failure, and there is no cure or way to prevent it. Our best advice would be to keep your pup away from ponds and rotting plants and seek immediate help should they be exposed.
