At Cinco Ranch Veterinary Hospital, we are dedicated to helping and healing animals. We are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), so whether your pet is in need of emergency care or is due for his annual wellness visit and vaccinations, we will treat him like he’s part of our family. Our professional staff combines compassion with knowledge and experience. We understand how important your pet is, and we work hard to earn and deserve your trust.
Easy Appointment Scheduling
It is our goal to provide you with the finest customer service and your pet with the finest care, and that begins when you call us to make an appointment. We have introduced a computerized appointment book that allows all of our staff members immediate access to your pet’s records and makes booking appointments fast and easy.
We always have two to three receptionists available, giving you the ability to make an appointment quickly and efficiently. Our clinic is open every weekday from 7 AM to 7 PM and on Saturdays from 8 AM to 2 PM, making it possible for even those with the busiest schedules to find a time that works for them and their furry companions to see one of our three experienced veterinarians. We do allow pets to be brought in without appointment, though they are preferred. The average wait time for your pet to see a veterinarian is just five minutes, and we do offer a discount to families with multiple pets.
Round the-Clock Care
Though we occasionally refer pets with specific needs to specialists, Cinco Ranch Vet is equipped to provide high-quality care for all of your pet’s needs. We provide emergency care whenever our clinic is open. When we are closed, we are able to refer you to a quality veterinary emergency center that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This facility also has an ICU ward.
What Makes an Emergency?
Being a pet parent is a big responsibility. How do you know if your furry friend is in pain or needs medical attention? Here are some signs that may mean your pet is experiencing an emergency. Of course, we encourage you to bring your pet in if you’re worried for any reason, big or small.
When You Bring Your Pet to Cinco Ranch Vet
We strongly encourage you to call us at the first sign of an emergency, as our staff may be able to provide you with immediate first-aid measures and treatment that can make a real difference. Though we will certainly provide care whether we’ve received a call from you or not, by calling ahead you will help our staff to prepare for your animal’s arrival so that we can begin to deliver the care that she needs as quickly as possible upon your arrival.
- Passing out
- Heat strokes
- Trouble breathing
- Issues urinating
- Bloated abdomen
- Pale gums
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
As is true in any emergency situation, our staff will triage all animals that arrive as emergencies so that we can first deliver emergency care to those who have the most immediate needs. Your pet’s condition will be assessed as quickly as possible by a nurse, and if her condition is life-threatening, she will be immediately taken into our treatment area. We may ask you to wait in our waiting room as we stabilize your animal.
When you bring your pet to a veterinary office, you expect experienced and compassionate caretakers. That’s what you’ll find at our clinic. It’s staffed by three experienced and knowledgeable veterinarians who are compassionate and caring in their approach:
- Dr. Steven Hibler is a Houston native and a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he also received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He has been practicing for over 35 years.
- Dr. Cara Longshore graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno and earned her veterinary degree from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing for over 20 years.
- Dr. Tanya Brown received both her Bachelor’s degree and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. She has been practicing for 16 years.
At Cinco Ranch Veterinary Hospital, we believe in taking a proactive approach that combines kindness with quality care. We invite you to read the testimonials that our clients have submitted and take a tour of our facilities. You’ll find it to be clean and comfortable and our staff universally dedicated to providing complete satisfaction for both you and for your pet.
We have a full complement of 25 staff members, allowing us to ensure that you and your pet get the attention that you both deserve. We are equipped with a full range of diagnostic equipment, including X-rays and ultrasound machines. We are able to perform EKGs and do bloodwork onsite and are equipped with an isolation room that meets the standards of the AAHA for use by animals that may be contagious or for any reason that they must be separated from our other patients.
We house cats and dogs in separate areas within the hospital, and when pets are in need of intensive care, they will be referred to AEC, a specialized emergency center that is capable of providing that type of care.
